Enova is thrilled to announce the successful completion of a groundbreaking solar project at Citizen Village, a student residence complex in Vanderbijlpark. The installation, designed to meet the energy and sustainability needs of the 180 five-bedroom apartments housing 900 university students, features a 150kWp solar photovoltaic (PV) system. This cutting-edge technology harnesses the abundant sunlight in the region, providing clean and renewable energy to power the complex. Additionally, 90 solar geysers with mixers have been integrated to optimize solar energy utilization for hot water needs. To manage hot water consumption efficiently, 180 shower timers have been implemented.
A 500kVA generator backup system with demand-side management has been installed to ensure an uninterrupted power supply. Automated meter reading and billing systems have also been implemented to provide accurate and streamlined billing to users.
Furthermore, a robust water management system has been installed, featuring a 100,000-litre water storage facility and a water pump system capable of handling 350,000 litres per day. Enova is proud to have successfully delivered this comprehensive and sustainable solution, providing reliable services to the students of Citizen Village while minimizing their environmental impact.
